| Great story so far. A suggestion would be to make the battles a little more descriptive (or just make them longer, with a small failure but a victory in the end). Another suggestion would be to create a "Monster Spirit" that works like your Pastel Angel, but for the monsters' side. |

| I found this chapter to be, well...a bit tedious. The cycle of introduce male, give quick reason for conversion, then march them and the reader through the steps involved over and over and over quickly becomes as annoying as the use of stock footage in cartoons. And the whole thing smacked rather too much of "Utopian" fiction, in that everything tried worked inevitably, just as planned, and there was never a hitch or setback. I t would work better, I think, if there were a bit more dramatic tension. Characters with vision or hearing problems that make them less susceptible to the mass subliminals. A small percentage of the population being violently allergic to some of the chemicals so wantonly flung about. A former man or two retaining enough autonomy to swallow a gun and the guilt feelings and unwanted attention from authorities this would bring about. That sort of thing. Oh, and the ALL-CAPS keywords were really jarring. |
