| I like the sustained pace of "telling the tale" as the story develops. It was nice to see how the author slowly builds layer upon layer (a "wedding cake" effect?) as Amy slowly emerges. Good attention to detail in terms of developing the change, mixing in the tapes with the music videos and magazines--just wish a bit more detail on the mental changes that were occuring had also been developed. A tiny bit rushed at the end, but then, doesne't one feel that way with all good stories? A very good read; thanks for sharing this story. |

| The setup up for this story is good,i liked it, but the end is a problem. Main point is that it contradicts the internal logic of the story. If the lab animals were sent, but later came back with their gender swapped, why can't Nat? If the gender swap only works one way, why is it assumed that the original Natalie is now Nathan. If things worked like this on the animals, the experiment would have been abandonded as it would appear not to be working. A male chimp sits on the chair, things whir, lights flash, and then at the end a male chimp is sitting on the chair. Please redo the end, 'cos i did enjoy the start. |
