| Silver Linings - Chapter Three Details |
| BobH's Mantra just keeps getting better. Bob shows a real knack for the male action story, and his emphasis on Lukasz's past adventures as an immortal soldier of fortune gives the author ample opportunity to display his talents. I especially liked the scenes placed in the 12th Century. They evocated both the kind and manner of story telling presented by the old Weird Tales school, and especially that of Robert E. Howard. I especially commend Bob for the way he allowed Mantra to confront Rune psychologically when physical confrontration failed. Her victory reminds us that the super quality of a hero lies in more than just his physical abilities. TG Mantra may be, but sissy she's definitely not. TG women do not have to be weak and sissy. Mike Barr's creation should be regarded as a standard for other writers wishing to do an out of the ordinary TG action story. |
