| Now that was good - very good. I do love a dark tale and this was as dark as they come. After a slowish start - something I would never be accused of myself:-) - the sense of anticipation grew enormously aqnd kept me rivetted throughout. I sort of guessed the way it was going but the journey was superb with some top notch writing that sent shivers down my spine. I certainly DIDN'T guess the ending though, and that bitter twist was oddly disturbing but a delicious irony. It is always a pleasure to get anything new from Janice and this certainly didn't disappoint. |

| A remarkable story in spite of its gramatical infelicities. The (mis)use of the semicolon is bewilidering, but is eventually overcome in a holistic assessment, as its high points are indeed high. (Note to MLA'ers, APA'ers, etc. Give it a chance). READ THE STORY. And thank goodness for remarkable surprises such as this. Well thought out, and trenchant without being overbearing as most TG fiction tends to be. Not enough praise to be heaped on it -- why aren't there more like it? Personally ashamed at having contributed my... offal... when I think of this piece. Sets a new mark in various areas, I think, all of which needs be aspired. Well done, Way Zim. And thanks. -j. |

| Loved this story. There were so many possible cliche situations you could have gotten him into, & you avoided them all. The rather low-key ending, avoiding as it did more cliche extensions of the story, was perfect! Such restraint, combined with a terrific story, nice characters, & an agreeable amount of tension, was all one could ask for. --Pervy |
