| I re-read parts 1 & 2 before reading part 3. I don't usually like sex stories, but I did this one. It's definitely one of the strangest stories I've read. There really didn't seem to be any likable characters. I don't think there really was any love in the story either; I don't think a person could really love someone and do to him what Syndi did to Derek (Humiliation and pain that he was tricked into consenting to, thinking it would end soon, when she knew it would go on for TWO years, and she calls it a GAME???), and I think any love Derek had for Syndi was lost because she did. After reflection I don't think Derek going back to being Kira after his rebellion in part 2 was real love, it seemed more like the tortured identifying with the torturer (Stockholm or Helsinki syndrome ?) Still, I was sad when, in part 3, Derek/Kira showed he/she was just as much of a bastard/bitch as Syndi had been. I did REALLY like the twist at the very end. Your descriptive talent is supurb, and as an erotic story of the pitfalls of lust without love (or false love based only on lust), this story was Excellent, like a medevil morality play updated. |

| This story held my interest from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the absense of eroticism and magic. That was a nice twist at the end with Rhea leaving at the end of the 12 month contract. That kept the suspense up until the end. I hope the author brings us many more storys similar to this one. I too rate it 100 on a scale of 1 - 10. |

| This is a touching story with interesting details about Polish culture and characters with motivations that are pretty unusual compared to the usual Fictionmania fare, so I commend you for that. Unfortunately, I have to take issue with your contention in the endnote that magic plays no role in this story, because the idea that a man could carry a fetus to term inside his abdomen is, well, magical. Schwarzenegger movies aside, there is simply no way that a developing embryo would be able to survive outside the environment of the uterus -- no placenta to provide oxygen and no finely-tuned hormonal system to regulate development. Also, if an embryo were implanted inside Adam's peritoneum, he most likely would develop a raging infection and die (as do women when an ectopic pregancy implants in the peritoneum), rather than growing C-cup breasts and lactating. The endocrinology of Wanda's female development is also a stretch. I hate to nit-pick like this, because I do think the story is well-written, but it's difficult to sell this as story about a heterosexual male with no TG tendencies who through a plausible series of self-controlled events makes the choice to have SRS. As with most of the stories here, it's more apt to say that either he had some TG leanings, or events were out of his control. Or perhaps the situation is best left as Father McQueen explains it: as a work of God. |
