| Why, oh why can't there be a story like this where the protagonist likes what's been done to him but not how it's been done, and has the self-respect to either get revenge or at least to stop playing the manipulator's game. How much better at the end, for example, for Leslie to tear up April's envelope, leave the bar, and begin a plan to find her and...?? Or earlier in the story, to discover that Leslie had distracted April into talking to her as a girlfriend AND had secretly turned on his mini-recorder in her purse, so that he could take her to court and ruin her. Why do men who like to be women always have to be wimps?!? |
