| Dear Jane, Neighbours 2 was just posted so I decided to come back and reread Unexpected Consequences in order to get the most enjoyment out of this new story. As I read I remembered my Mom had a special red dress though it was not a ball gown. It was a sheath style to the knee in length and the material was elegant and dressy though at the time I didn't know anything about what the various materials used in making dresses were. I knew she was one of the two most beautiful women in my parents circle of friends and that my Dad was very proud of her and very much in love with her. I also knew he liked her to wear high heels. He encouraged her to shop at Saks 5th Avenue in Chicago when we went over there. On one of those trips my sister and I went along on the shopping trip and I remember thinking to myself how much fun it would be able to shop for myself in such a special store and buy dress after dress. (While I now have over three closets full of nice clothes, they just are not of the high quality that my Mom had back then in the Fifties. Yes, her most special dresses and pegnoir sets had their own special plastic bags. The story brought back memories of the first time I ever realized that my sister was very pretty and sexually attractive. Of course I just hoped she never would realize the use I made of her panty girdles and swim suits. I was disappointed when her corselet would not fit me. Claire should be the focus of my comments here though. Her understanding and love for Dave is enviable to a truly great degree. Their vow to share inspires even as I feel touched by personal regret. Claire is so perceptive and her questions go right to the heart of the matter. When Dave is so pained trying to explain how defeated he felt being unable to quit wearing girl's clothes, Claire asks "So what else have you got and what else were you wearing?" That strikes me as a truly wonderful and loving answer. Dave's dumping his clothes in a purge (which are so senseless in my mind) was driven not so much in an effort to quit but in order to please Claire even though Claire would have no knowledge of it at the time. The effort to please the woman and love of his life is so often very strong in transvestites. How so very carefully we replace clothes in the drawers from whence we borrowed them. How naive I was to hope those stains would never be discovered. Hey, I didn't know how to wash clothes in the washing machine and never thought there would be enough time any way. The compassion and caring Dave and Claire have for each other is wonderfully inspiring and all too rare in stories here at FM. Claire knows Dave is not going to get over his transvestism and because of her love for him decides there will have to be a way to accommodate his needs. WOW!!! When Zoe comes over I at first thought the catching of Dave by Zoe was a set up (maybe because I read too many stories here at FM), but soon it is obvious that it is not. I didn't remember that Zoe knows more about crossdressing than Claire does. While Claire tried to stand by her husband, Zoe becomes aware that Claire did not know about Dave's dressing. She brings out the closer in empathy aspect for Claire. Her revealing what she did in a mutually protection assuring move just shows what an amazing woman she is also. Claire is assertive in a marvelous manner illustrated in her no non-sense declaration that Dave will shave his legs. Gotta love it. Such a special kiss. I was so moved again upon my rereading of this wonderful story. Yes my comment from a year ago is still how I feel. Thanks again Jane. Laura Anne Lynn |
