| Clara, this is your best work yet. I love all of your stories, but George and Martha may be my favorite up until now. I love the way you develop your characters and tell us about their thoughts and dreams without boring us. I can see what you have said about the characters taking on a new life of their own. Kate continues to amaze me. First she is obviously a driven businesswoman who has raised two wonderful children, bravo for her. She has a concern for her youngest and wanted to give him a kick in the pants to get him "started", but has realized they may not be the right thing to do. Mothers certainly have a unique connection to their children and when Kate saw Gerri, she shifted gears. I believe that still with her sons best interest in mind, Kate saw a path for her son that leverages his skills; organization, nurturing, compassion. Maybe the wrong skills for an aggressive businessperson, but for her youngest, maybe the best path in life. All of your characters are affected by Gerri's changes and feel a kindred spirit to helping Gerri fulfill her desires. Stevie loves him to death, and feels supercharged by taking on lead role in their marriage. The discovery of a lactating Gerri must have Taylor mesmerized. A busy Taylor tries to bury herself in her work to forget Fred. If there is a possibility that she may not have to milk her breasts anymore will be a huge wake-up for Taylor. I know she can't seem too anxious, but for her to pass off nursing to someone else would be a tremendous relief for her. Not only not having her breasts tender all of the time, Taylor would be able to get back in shape in her gym. It seems a lot of her confidence comes from her being in fit shape and Taylor seems to want that. Taylor also is consumed by her role as single mom for MIla. She is constantly wondering if she should be doing more. Gerri would do more for Mila than any other mother could. Stevie is a BBW but the jury is out on her relationship with Gerry. With Stevie's background with Taylor and the job opening with Kate, she has had her life handed to her on a silver platter. But falling into an idyllic life isn't a sin. I think that Stevie is the wildcard in this whole scenario. If she fully supports "Gerri" then everyones plans are moving forward. Even Gerri has contemplated this as a best possible solution. If Stevie throws us a curveball, who knows what may happen. I still think that Gerri needs to keep her expanding belly before the "birth". Thanks Clara! Dee |

| Amy--an addendum, having just read your comment on Genda's note: I agree totally with yourfantasy/ reality distinction...Not that readers won't always have different perspectives--But genda's view reminds me of the intellectual/emotional intolerance and rigidities all too often found among TG folks (and most others)when as 'victims of whatever, we should be More open than others (Racism is rife among TV/TG's, I've found). I've only found ONE truly open-hearted/ minded TV/TG group in the 25 years I've been exploring (it's perhaps relevant that I don't dress at all in public--disliking my physique so much at age 56--this draws suspicion and prejudice from superficially Brave girls--my public persona w. others is as an empathetic, helpful friend or would-be 'sister'). If you're intereted, my favorite is the Renaissance tribe of King of Prussia, PA. Joanne Roberts et al, have developed both a welcoming little community and an array of services and publications that are tops...! When Tapestry/IFGE of Massachusetts fame was just birthing in the early 80's, I learned a lot, but my personal contacts on site were very mixed-- Arrogance, disdain and tunnel vision were frequent obstacles to joining in. But it does take all kinds, even a few Prima Donnas w. special strength of will & Mind. Well--another tangent. Just wanted to endorse you again--Will gladly share story ideas or discuss collaboration (I have about 15 unfinished, gloppy drafts (over 900 pages), plus an ongoing 'fictionalied memoir' of my true feminine childhood and beyond, that I've written and rewritten for 16 years as much for therapy as for 'art'.
