| Dear Clara, 'Big breasted bimbo'? Where does that come from? Nothing I wrote has the remotest connection to the notion that I wanted Dee-Dee to be a 'sperm-loving, big breasted bimbo'! Methinks the lady doth protest too much. As to Dee-Dee's mother half-heartedly and in retrospect, acknowledging her self-serving interest, that doesn't make it right. And as far as the fact that it's fiction that justifies the story line, that's nothing but a total cop-out! It's a story that purportly deals with real issues of our time and thus surely has to acknowledge the reality of transgenderism in a violently patriarchal society! Dee-Dee wasn't transgendered but suddenly he was! Oh, but he was transgendered all the time but just didn't know it? It strikes me that you're using transgenderism to justify an a priori position and as I said, I think it's intellectually dishonest and does a disservice to the transgendered who have a bad enough time as it is without such opportunism masquerading as a moral tale. Incidentally, the male in Dr. Money's study later committed suicide! |
