Bordello of No Return     Details
Pretensious and false. You feel the victim because you refuse to recognize that you do have power over yourself, but you have simply chosen not to exercise it. The story rings so hollow and phony. You abuse yourself and others with such drivel. It takes a lot of wasted energy to imagine such a hell where there is such a magnitude of oppression. To be "manic" about such images indicates a great lack of health. This is pollution to try and intrude your false and twisted notions into the consciousness of others-- some of whom are able to be disturbed by it. Know thyself.

OVID is still among my favorrite series. Love reading more about Cindy from SHORTCUT TO OVID and how the PI went through his adjustments.
Ovid 9: The Private Eye     Details
For what it's worth, I LIKED what I read. The "dialect" does make reading this story considerably more difficult, but it also enhances the point of the story in a way that I enjoyed. I would suggest though that this is only a portion of a more complete story -- perhaps a prologue that leads up to the Valley Girl talk might help? I like the story ... but I think there's more to be told, and an easier to digest "hook" at the beginning might enable more people to understand and therefor appreciate the story. Just my two cents worth (but please don't give up writing in experimental formats!)

Dear Christianne, "The Clothes Make the Man" is a wonderful story. It has an element of commpasssion and genuine concern which makes it a welcome relief from the heavy handedness of characters in some stories. Your heroine doesn't just control and manipulate the man transforms, she supports and nurtures. The story seems to say that those of us who feel gender conflict can find a mutually satisfying relationship. So many stories support the notion that all we deserve for our difference is to be humiliated and diminished. I don't pretend to be a literary expert, so I can't make technical judgements. All I can say is that the story was a comfortable read. The words didn't get in the way. Thanks for a great story.
