Anne, thanks for posting the puzzle as a story. I never did copy it to file the first time around, and would have had to transcribe the saved copies of the printouts I'd made. For anybody reading this review, let it be known that even though Anne wrote the story around me and my femme side, Jennifer, I still failed the logic test. My high IQ has somehow never been good at logic problems. And once more to Anne, now that I have this in my greedy little hands again, I can consider doing the story I'd promised long ago. SteveZ
Puzzle: The Things We Do For Love     Details
Chapter 31 has posted. I enjoyed it a lot. And since (in my opinion) it has some important scenes that reflect moments in anyone TG's life, I tried to insert a few of my own personal thoughts, feelings, and emotions into the story. Just a tad. I hope this makes Jordan feel more genuine, and the conflict within real. As for the timeline and date... I've attempted to explain this before. True reality would require weeks and months of time gaps. A surgery would happen, and most take 2-4 weeks for swelling to subside and healing to take hold. If you want true reality, look out a window or tune into a TLC documentary on transitioning TG girls. Such realism has an important role in life, but this is fiction-mania. Where we try to create a world for our inner fantasies to come out and play a little. The goal here, in my continued view, is to offer you what Whodibah created. "Plausible deniability-reality." No it isn't TRUE reality, but everything presented are things that in THEORY could sort of happen. Yeah they never would, but it isn't magic, it isn't sci fi, and it isn't truly crazy either. I had concerns following the daily/semi-daily format Whodibah set up. But if we fast forwarded for the sake of realism.... ....on day 42 of her transition, some small step in acceptance would be made in Jordan's psychology, and it would not be shared within the story because nothing else may happen that day. Transitioning isn't like "crossing the rubicon," not really anyway. It is sort of a slow burn, it is with you for days...weeks....years. Then some day there is just a realization and you start. When you do, it feels like you were always the frog in a pot of water slowing coming up to a boil. It feels like you were ALWAYS on the pathway to transition. The details of when and what significant moments shaped that decision blur together. At least for me this is how it feels. And for Jordan, I think the readers enjoy watching this "string of unfortunate events" lead to "Halloween for Life," and why rush forward with "Two months later..." breaks in that psychological journey all for the sake of making the story more accurate to how the real world actually works? My view is I see it as sort of a soap opera. I don't question timelines here much. I largely ignore them. If whodibah or the authors writing it thought the dates were important, we would reference them in the story. Since the dates matter very little, a go with the flow orientation towards time lets you focus on thenactual important things....the emergence of a beautiful girl within, and the struggle to adapt or fight that. So those are my thoughts with regard to time. I enjoy the interest, I don't want to sound critical of the question on time for orientation. I just hope the readers don't fixate on time and lose out on the truly remarkable psychological development within Jordan. And if time were that important to you, just make a mental adjustment.... Alternative Chapter 31 Opening- Jordan woke up, "one year!" Jordan thought to himself. Himself! Ha! It seems to have stopped being himself long ago. Jordan it out of bed to brush her hair out of her face. "I miss the simpler days" she said to herself then seeing her beautiful body in the mirror. Her breasts....yes HER breasts stared back, and she brushed a hand delicately around to help remove the baby doll nightie. They had long since stopped being sore, but any time she made incidental contact with them or they brushed against the chiffon of her lingerie and electric explosion coursed through her body. She could hear that Angela was awake. "We have to get moving," Angela called out. "I know," Jordan said brushing out his hair. After a long year of successfully dodging dates, Jordan had no choice but to go out with Ed Johansson tonight. Angela had long since given up trying to figure out the sexuality of her prudish roommate, but was excited Nicole was finally going to go out. Some butterflies just take longer to come out of their cocoons. Jordan selected a smart dress for work, and was strangely happy that Angela was going to take him shopping for some "date clothes." When Angela offered, Anna had told Jordan that he had to accept. After all this time, Anna was actually becoming more like a sister than a wife to Jordan. But she was supportive, and patiently helping him get his old life back. That's all that really mattered. As they left the apartment, Jordan noticed the newspaper, and it had an article on the Cardinals. "I can't believe I also have a date with a star QB..." jordan said to himself with a sigh. How did this crazy adventure ever start anyway? And how did Matt throw so many TDs last week? That was supposed to be impossible. Oh well, another day, another dollar....Jordan reflected stepping out into the hall way and hearing the familiar click of his heel on the floor. So.....use this type of a self-editorial fix. The story becomes much more realistic, but you end up missing many of the step-by-step developments that got Jordan there, unless you insert several of these types of edits, and let our chapters not read as Day 1...2....3...4...5...7...9...12....15...19... But rather as Day 1,...4.....8....13....23....27....54....61.....98....141.....256... Either way you read the story is ok. But it is just easier to dispense with the construct of time. Soap operas do it all the time, and 30-something actresses are mothers to 20-something year old children.
Halloween for Life Chapter 30 (Timeline 1)     Details
This is one of the best stories I've every read. It's the dream come true for every cross dresser, tranvestite and transsexual come true. To be able to dress and grow up as a girl, to go thru puberty and your first date and everything else. Keep up the good writing Rebecca.
