I know that this could be very serious to someone but the story got me to chuckle and on a drab, cloudy, rainy day where I sit. The sound of the frustration of someone not understanding how the person felt/feels is a feeling we all know from time to time. And being so wrapped up in our thoughts while driving that we suddenly realize we are at a certain place without remembering getting there. The last sentence is what cause the chuckle, that "the thing" would be removed one way or another. To Heidi: good job!

Dimelza, I had read this some time ago. I liked it then, and of course I liked it now. I would love it even more if you would continue the story, and show us how it ends for real. I would like to see who wears the wedding dress in the relationship, and how others finally percieve Dan. Why didn't Dan ever get a feminine name, like dannie or something. It has to be awkward to call someone beautifully dressed, and I guess passes well as a female, but be called Dan. I already gather the kids have no problem with Dan dressed, but I do believe that the mother has reservations as the staff of the manor. Otherwise The mother would not have been so adamate about Dan wearing a tux, for she would be embarrassed otherwise. Also her additude towards Dan, after he made the cross dressing announcement at the Thanksgiving party, and her answer to him that he should have waited, was a blow that she couldn't stand that part of Dan. So Margret had real issue with the crossdressing aspect, not realizing that the jerk was trying to blackmail him about it. I felt Dan did the right thing and difused the situation, so the jerk couldn't use it against him. I am just sorry that Margret didn't see it that way. Please, someday could you finish the story as a supplement, where Margret ask's for forgiveness, for her behaviour at that time. for it was 5 weeks without her even calling Dan, or speaking to him, so obviously she evedently didn't care for Dan. I would like for her to finally admit she was pigheaded about what happened. Would the rest of the family be ok with Dan? Lots of questions if you come down to it. I would love to see that jerk taken down, and the family realize what a jerk he truely was, to try blackmail. Hope to see further writings by you. This story was great. Hugs Joni W
