| Co-Author’s (Noel Lexicon) comments: I personally would like to thank all of you who took the time to weigh in with comments – nicely done. They can’t help but have an impact. The one thing that seems obvious from the depth and quality of the comments is that Mommy/II is a story that emotionally moves many readers to strong reactions. Wow! And lest we not forget, the genius of the story belongs to Maggie Finson. My major complaint about the original was nothing more than Maggie got tired of writing the story and rushed an ending to be done with it – and the story was so strong that it deserved full completion. But the elements Maggie wrote in, the love for the children, the sense of responsibility by Jack(ie), the feeling of Jack’s world turning literally upside down in just one day, reader dislike for Lisa – all so marvelous – are Maggie’s! And no not all peaches and cream - Maggie and I did have some disagreements on the rewrite, mostly minor (don’t hit me no more Maggie! – giggle). Responses to some excellent reviewer comments. The drivers license, application and all necessary papers for Jack’s Jackie IDs has only his signature on them, signed by him unawares when he was being controlled by hypnotic drugs. This also includes Jackie’s credit card which again puts him at risk. And a long string of purchases on the card, all in his signature (obtained the same way) puts Jack substantially at risk trying to prove he is an innocent party. And guess who’s signature is on the purchase order and request for the female hormones he has been being force fed, his. Another mark against him and the same for psychotic drug they’ve been using on him, plus its a cleverly forged prescription. I’m very glad Jack(ie)’s good heart came through. Loved a lot of the suggestions for Part Two and yes a salon scene, Jack(ie) reacting in ways he doesn’t understand has delicious possibilities. And certainly, who doesn’t want to see an ending where the kids are safe, loved, and have a better potential for their future than if Lisa had stayed around. It’s the struggle, danger and risk of the journey that make the story. And for those who pointed out holes – thank you and bless you. Those observations are very complimentary in that you want to hold the story to strict present day accountability, which means you found the story very real world believable. Thanks! My challenge to you - list your own simple solutions. I thought of a couple, but yours might be much better, besides think of the fun, especially if your solution is written in. Also – there is no child abuse. There is a blackmail threat to publicize spurious charges about such against Jack, but hopefully the story made it clear that the threaten charges were completely false because Jack(ie) dearly loves and is willing to sacrifice to save his kids. If you didn’t get that, list the paragraph that confused you – easy to modify. And if a false blackmail threat disturbs you, certainly don’t read murder mysteries or watch cop shows. Last – the future of further rewrite chapters is cloudy. The muse, as far as this story goes, has left Maggie. Word is that someone else is currently toiling on chapter Two. Hope so! It’s a great story! Drop Maggie a line and tell her thanks. She deserves it – she’s a top notch story teller. PS: my suggestion and input has been for Lisa not to get the total comeuppance everyone wants – life is seldom so satisfying. Instead, I wanted to story to promote ‘the best revenge is to live well!’ What if Lisa, now a lesbian, finds that the female Jackie is totally adorable and a stunning beauty that everyone, and we mean everyone, really likes! (Would it be neat if Jack studied flirting so he could get larger tips at the diner and really got good at it?) And the girls are adorable and suddenly Lisa wants a piece of that pie back now, for whatever reason. So sad, too bad Your comments are marvelous. Interested in hearing any additional thoughts and opinions you might have. And I’m sure so is Maggie. You never know yours may be the one comment that gets her excited about the story again. | I liked the story but would've like it to coniue through to breast feeding the baby or his breasts bloating up to a "fuller" size.Maybe more detail on their dressing sessions and him being exposed to outside people. Generally very good though. |
