| I am confused. You expressed great admiration for the wife who genuinely wanted to help her husband. But in regard to the office co-workers, even after commenting, "Femming this gurl would be not unlike buying a recovering alcoholic a fifth of bourbon for a birthday gift." (Someone who would do this would certainly be considered despicable.), you go ahead and give that woman, not even a wife, but only a co-worker doing this presumably for her own amusement, advice on how to proceed, advice that if followed stands a good chance of destroying the man in question. I would have thought your advice would be similar to the advice you gave to the sister whose brother was being femmed by his wife, "Mind your own business." |

| Dear lady; Wow. wow. wow. All other magical transformation stories must bow to this one. You have found the deepest, profoundest emotional truths in the context of fantasy. This lapidary jewel of a story is so real; never have I demanded of the Gods and Fates so loudly that "this must be the way!". The conjunction of basic scientific truth with the deepest of religious faith--faith transcending sect--feels so damn right. I walked up 5th ave from 14th St. to 42nd last July, after finding out the hard way that Lee G. Brewster had passed away (the proprietor of Lee's Mardi Gras at 9th Ave. and 14th St., that wonderful store where a boy could become a girl for a little while). Lee was a tireless crusader for all transgender causes, of course; and the culmination of her activities was the creation of this legendary store. On the doorstep of my favorite store, I was told she had gone in May, and that the store was closed until further notice. I was stunned. I walked up 5th. Ave. in a daze, though not as far as the Plaza. I don't know why I chose 5th. Ave. Perhaps it was for the welter of life; to submerge myself in life again. I had not yet read this story. I am going back this Christmas, on other business. I will walk from Herald Square all the way to the Plaza this time, in memory of Lee, and your magnificent story. Gorgeous shops will beckon to me, filled with every kind of feminine finery. The Plaza will be my shining goal. Who can say? bless the love you put into this story, gladys |

| Katherine; I am loving this story, I work at my local VA in an admin job and first I will say I am happy to see someone using BLS instead of CPR. We too have issues of patients bring in weapons or getting upset with the staff. The people I know there are wonderful and we work hard to make sure everyone has good customer service. As for the doctors yea I encounter a few, but because of my job they have to be nice :). I really hope Alex finds her way and the ED docs should know what is going on, but I hope Kristi will back Alex up. |
